bio.

The first job in design? Janitor at the ad agency where my dad worked. After that my education is a mix of by-the-book, great mentors and simply a can do attitude. Early on I had a wild idea I could create an in-house advertising department for the technology company I was working at while attending college. The “ad” venture worked out, and from there I went on to work at a Los Angeles advertising agency. The next step was out on my own.

Gutsy moves have typically paid off for me. Two months into the start-up process a big break (aka big client) came along and the business grew from there. At some level I wanted to become a big design firm, but my desire to remain a designer and not be consumed by managing the business kept it small, and close to the customer.

I appreciate good design in all things. Over the years clients have asked me to get involved in variety of design projects from product design to multi-media. All enjoyable. But, my first love is branding and package design. Both disciplines are primary influencers, and have a direct impact on the success of an enterprise.
